BAP 2013: Annie-Day 8, Saturday PERFORMANCE DAY

Well, Katy, Magen, and I stayed up until four o'clock this morning, laughing, crying, talking... We knew it was our last night, so we had to get it allllllll out.

This morning we got up, showered, and packed up all of our belongings. We got checked out of the room and we all went to lunch. Then we trucked over to the theatre for hair and makeup. I don't know why anyone does drugs. The high I get in the dressing room, putting the finishing touches on my character, or standing in the dark, behind the curtain, waiting for the show to start... Nothing could possibly top that adrenaline rush. Nothing.

I actually happened to get a few pictures in the dressing room pre-show. Here they are!
Me as Miss Lily St. Regis!

Katy as Grace, me as Lily

The show went superbly! I can't wait till I get my DVD of the performance, I will try to upload some clips from the show. I will be uploading more photos as they become available.

I have had so much over the past week. So. Much. Fun. I cannot wait for Cinderella in July!!!

Who said theatre isn't a contact sport?

So yesterday was a fun day! My cousin Nicklas got married to a wonderful girl named Sarah. I hadn't been to a wedding since his sister Keitha got married in 2006, and I didn't remember much, so all of my nuptial related knowledge came from the wedding scene in The Sound of Music (which I was in this summer). The entire family really enjoyed themselves. Very romantic ♥ And furthermore, this was my first time to get to go out with all the single ladies for the bouquet toss, and lo and behold... Look who caught the bouquet!  I sent this picture to Adrian. He's skiing so he hasn't received it yet. ;) Anywho. The purpose of today's post is regarding the myth that theatre is a nice, safe past time. Wrong! Theatre is an art that imitates life, and that art sometimes turns a little painful. It's something that happens all the way from children's theatre to Broadway and West End. Afterall, Idina Menzel was absent from her closing weekend in 'Wicked...

Big Changes!

Hello friends! We're moving quickly into spring (even if NYC weather fails to acknowledge it) and man do I have some great news to share! First, I posted last time about how due to cut hours I had taken on the second job at Blue Balloons. It's not something I had necessarily been super excited about; it meant having 0 days off and being even more exhausted than normal. But I was willing to hustle if that's what needed to happen. But then my manager approached me about moving into a management position at Loft. I had been a Sales Lead at my store in Texas and we had spoken several times during my time at the Flatiron store about moving back up, but there had never been a position open. But now, due to a series of moves within the company, one was! I gleefully told her I was still interested and she sat up an interview with our District Manager. And I am now, officially, the new part-time Sales Lead at Loft in Flatiron! I am so excited for this new opportunity. Being a ...

HAMILTON

Guys. GUYS. Picture it. Last Thursday, I'm at the gym. I'm running on the treadmill. Suddenly a text pops up on my phone from my friend Ashlyn: "Whatcha doing tonight?" followed almost immediately by a screen shot. In fact, this screenshot. Cue my yelling nonsense words at Jess, who was on the treadmill next to me and desperately trying to stop my own machine, less I trip and end up in the ER, thus throwing away my shot. When I finally gathered my wits, I tested her back, super cool and casual, that YES OH MY GOD I WOULD LOVE TO GO THANK YOU!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍 It's so fitting that she happened to win the Hamilton lottery. When we had gone for drinks just a week earlier, we had spoken about how desperately we wanted to see Hamilton. She even mentioned this article  at Timeout about the odds of winning.  We had each sighed, resigned that if we ever got the chance, it was probably years off. LITTLE DID WE KNOW. Cut to six hours later. We got $5 frozen drin...
